French producer Moar has a fine track record when it comes to delivering dancefloor-friendly blends of funk, soul and hip-hop, sometimes incorporating elements of classic cuts or nods towards jazz-funk. On this seven-inch single, he moves the dial a little musically, looking towards deep house for inspiration - at least on A-side 'I', where he peppers a delicious peak-time house groove with dubbed-out samples seemingly mined from a vibraphone-sporting late 1970s soul jam. Over on the flip, 'II' is a more straight-up, sing-along house revision of Jocelyn Brown classic 'Somebody Else's Guy'. It's rather good all told, with Moar subtly beefing up and reworking a classic whilst retaining many of the song's most-loved features.
